I got in my car yesterday for the first time in five weeks and drove to the grocery store. I had put together a click list online order through King Soopers and it was ready for pick-up. I have been so incredibly thankful for all of the meat in our freezers and canned fruits and veggies from last fall in the pantry.
The boys have been troopers about not having many “snacks”, but instead have been eating either pickles or peaches (because I had canned 50 jars of each last fall) or hamburger. It even makes me chuckle as I type that out. Anyhow, we have definitely been getting creative with meal time.
But it was time. So I ordered online and took the necessary precautions to go to the store and pick up the items. When I got home I unloaded the food, bag by bag with gloves on and disinfectant wipes in my hands. It is amazing the things we once took for granted…
~ I am thankful today for fresh produce.
~ I am thankful for the people who have worked so hard so that families can have food with little to no exposure outside of the home.
~ I am thankful for the people who stock shelves, bag groceries, and deliver them.
~ I am thankful that we get to have potatoes for dinner tonight!
~ I am thankful that through this process God has given us opportunity to teach our children what it means to be frugal, to not waste by taking only what we need.
~ I am thankful for a fresh perspective of the things I once took for granted.
What have you taken for granted and now have a fresh, new perspective on? What are a few things you are thankful for during this time of quarantine?
