Day 8: Love Like That

Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.

Ephesians 5: 1-2 (MSG)

Greetings!

These verses…they reach out and touch our hearts. Mostly what God does is love us. And for us to make our lives mostly about loving others we need to keep company with the Father and learn from him a life of love.

Jesus came into this world to love. If we desire a deeper understanding of what love is, we must spend time in the Word and learn how Jesus lived and how he loved.

Most everyone has heard of the term “be Christ-like” in all we do. In order to do that we must get to know him, spend time with him and learn from him. Learn his words, his ways, and how he treated others from the heart. Jesus didn’t love to get something in return, but to give everything of himself to us. He didn’t love with conditions, but unconditionally.

Let’s press into his unconditional, unending, extravagant love this Christmas season and learn to love like that.
