Beef and Tortellini Soup
Fall is one of my favorite times of the year for soup. For one, I love to throw everything together in my crock pot so dinner is done whenever we get in for the evening. And these cool fall evenings have me craving something warm.

3 Keys to Start the Week Off Right!
Good morning! Sometimes when Monday morning rolls back around and we restart the week it can make us feel overwhelmed OR we can choose to make it a great one. I want to share with you 3 key things to starting your week (and each day) off right! Do not dwell on the past. Whether that…

The Start of Our Thankful Tree
Change Among Us
I do love this time of the year. We get to see the changes happening around us; the leaves turning beautiful shades of yellow, orange and red. We get to feel the change by cooler mornings and shorter days. We can touch the change as we spread fall décor all over our homes and haul the pumpkins to the porch. But I think most importantly…we experience the change of season in our hearts as we give thanks.

Yummy Sausage and Butternut Squash Soup
I was spending some time in my hometown recently visiting family. My mom took me over to their “community garden” and we picked some big, beautiful butternut squash. My whole family loves butternut squash. We usually eat it diced and sautéed, mashed or even baked and sliced with a sprinkle of maple sugar and cinnamon on them.

It Is Good
It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to the Most High.
What is it about worship that can break our hearts wide open? I have always loved music and I especially love some good worship music. It’s as if I can’t keep my hands or my feet still as I sing out loud to the LORD. It is that true heart connection that happens when we open up and let Him fill us up as we surrender.

The LORD Above Is Mightier Than These!
God is Still Bigger
Are you facing some hard decisions? Are you facing something unexpected? Are you facing something unplanned, something that seems impossible?
I think that if we each answer this honestly, we all have a “yes” in this season.
It has been a YEAR of the unexpected, the hard, the unplanned.
But our God is still BIGGER than any circumstance that comes our way.

What Do We Do When Doubt Invades Us?
Doubt
What do we do when doubt creeps in? When questions begin to flood our thoughts and all of a sudden we go from confident to confused. What happened to the clarity?
This week I sat at my desk with my head in my hands, overwhelmed and confused. How did I get so much on my plate and how in the world was I going to get it all done? Have you ever felt overwhelmed enough that it made you begin to doubt what you had been so confident in?

The Fullness of Jesus Fills Everything in Every Way
September 16, 2020|Tana|Fill your cup up with the Good, Thankful Thursday Happy Thankful Thursday! I got to have the best conversation with my sister-in-law on Monday afternoon. I love when God speaks words out of our mouths to others…that were really intended for ourselves. Has this ever happened to you? I found myself talking…

Run Your Race
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. The Best Vegetable Beef Soup
Fall is the best time of the year for soup. We had a few cold days sweep through Colorado last week and my taste buds craved beef soup. It is savory and absolutely delicious on a cold, rainy day.

Chili Sauce! (Johnston family recipe)
Family recipes are a “thing” in my family. I love to go through my grandmothers old recipe cards and see what she had created. I love to make these recipes on special occasions and definitely on holidays. They remind me of her and of family and how important it truly is.

How to Get Ready for Canning Season
Canning season is upon us and I couldn’t be more excited! Whether you grow your own, hit the farmers market each week to gather your produce, or a little bit of both, now is the perfect time to get started. I think there will be more people canning this year due to the uncertainty of…

How to Get Back to The Basics of Love
I believe that love is one of our greatest adventures. It’s the giving away of ourselves, down to the very core, including every single vulnerability that we have. It’s allowing someone access to the deepest parts of us and trusting them with it. It’s not holding back but letting go. It’s fully, freely, and completely opening our hearts. It can be one of the scariest things we do but also one of the most profound.

National Day of Prayer
Today is the National Day of Prayer. This is a special day that has been set apart for us, the people, to come together in unity and lift our voices to the Father.
