Remaining Thankful in the Unexpected

I sat with the blank pages of my gratitude journal laid open on the table.  I challenged myself to think about what I am TRULY thankful for in these days… In these hard days, ones filled with the unexpected that change brings.

The sun broke from behind the clouds and filled my office with light. The warmth felt good on my face. The light always does that, doesn’t it? Pushes out the darkness. I began to write on my blank pages

  • I am thankful to watch my boys jump and giggle on the trampoline as they try to master doing front flips
  • I am thankful for the days, even if I have no idea what they will bring
  • I am thankful for my mom – she truly inspires me to be a better woman
  • I am thankful for my sister and the laughter she brings during hard times
  • I am thankful for my husband, who works hard to provide for our family and this ministry
  • I am thankful for the Scriptures and the truth that they give us to hold onto
  • I am thankful for the opportunity to teach my children all about Easter and why we celebrate it in the upcoming weeks

Even in challenging times, I am reminded that the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5)

I pray that you too would take a moment, dig deep, and think about the things you are thankful for.  Write them down, then praise the Father for them.  We will get through this tough season of quarantine, together!

With love,
