Be Still and Know…

Good morning!

The world begs us to hustle more. To hit the ground running in 2020.

It tells us that in order to grow, in order to be seen, we must post more on social media, engage more, edit more pictures and create that “perfect look”.

Yet, I find that my heart yearns to spend more intimate time with the Father.  It is crying out for more quiet, more peace, more stillness and less busyness.

In 2020, I am dedicated to being more intentional.  More intentional with my time, my love, my desires and my gifts.  More intentional in my one-on-one relationship with the Father. 

This past fall I felt God speaking to my heart saying, “Be still dear one.  Quiet your heart and your mind.  Seek me and I will make known to you the path of life.” 

I felt his urge a few different times during the last few months as I rushed from one thing to another, never slowing down long enough to obey Him.  I thought I needed to push through, finish the year out strong. 

The longer I have pushed through, the more tired and drawn down I have become.  I firmly believe in obedience and following the lead of the Holy Spirit, yet I haven’t done that.  It is amazing how caught up we can get in “our work”, even if it is the Lord that we are doing it for in the first place. 

But it is time…time to be intentional in my obedience. 

…it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit.  And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.  Romans 2:29

I would love to give you a timeline… a date that I will begin the devotions and blogs again, but then I would be putting God in a box.  I am on His timeline, not mine.  I am excited for the work God is going to do on my heart and I am confident that I will be back writing soon.  The mission He has put in my heart to help others know and experience the love and kindness of Jesus has just begun.
