Being in the Moment

Good morning!

Snow day!!!! I don’t know about everyone else’s kiddos but mine LOVE the snow!  I think there is something so magical about it.  To them it is fresh and white and fluffy and full.  To me it is still and silent and peaceful… until BAMB!  Hit in the back with a snowball!  Oh these boys… ornery!

This mornings snow is a beautiful reminder to me… a reminder to be in the moment.  Not to just be here physically, but mentally and emotionally too.   I have felt myself drift off the last few weeks, almost like numb to my surroundings.  (It has been a crazy season for our home.)  Almost checked out as some say.  Here, but mostly only physically.  As women sometimes the fast pounding, endless demands of life gets us.  It gets us deep down in our souls and its like we hold our breath as long as we can until one day we come up for air, gasping.

But these moments….

These are the moments I don’t want to miss….

When my soul is worn, I miss them.  When my to-do list wins, I miss them.  When anything hinders me, I miss them.  I miss what is important.

~Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.  And lets run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.  Hebrews 12:1-2

What is hindering you from being in the moment?  What distractions do you have?  We live in a world full of them.  Let us throw them off and fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Blessings,

Tana
